Cozy up with a bowl of homemade apple pie oatmeal!
• 1 cup quick oats
• 2 cup almond milk
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 3/4 cubed apple
• Toppings: peanut butter, maple syrup, remaining apple slices, pecans, chia seeds, extra cinnamon
• Put oats, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and apple cubes in a pot.
• Cover and put heat on medium high. Let it come to a simmer, then lower heat to medium low. Wait about 7 minutes for the oats and apple slices to become soft.
(Quick oats will take about 7 minutes or so, but follow the instructions for whatever type of oat you’re using! Steel cut oats, rolled oats, and quinoa would be other good options!)
• Pour it all in a big bowl and top with your favorite things! This is only complete with a side of coffee, of course. 🙂
